The interior of the original location of Tulaire in Wheat Ridge. It is a small merchandised store with clothing, gift and home items displayed. The sales counter is in the background.

Picture a funky little shop in the South of France circa 1960. That's the vision I had for Tulaire. Where you'll run across eclectic clothing, gifts, odds and ends that all make you smile. Things you've never seen before.

The branding was created to feel funky, irreverent and of that era (a Matisse/Picasso meets mod vibe) so I developed organic flat color shapes to be used throughout the materials.

Image of Tulaire's front door, which has a yellow wood frame and large glass center pane. An open sign hangs in the window that has a kelly green background with a large "Open" in white on a black strip. Days and hours open are in a playful style at angles with graphic elements accenting the sides.
A frame sign on the sidewalk at Tulaire. Design is in a colorful pop art style with a black line drawing of a woman grabbing her glasses with her mouth open in awe. The text is in a bubble that says "Come in, we're open!"
Three social media posts for events at Tulaire. On the left is a graphic for Babe Love Fest, celebrating self-love for Valentine's Day. The graphic is an orange square with a line drawing of a pink cloud with an eye in it that has a heart for the pupil. The center graphic is for the Spooky Saturday Market, which features a multicolor painted background with a large white brushstroke on top that features the event name and a large black line drawing of a cat. The right image is for the Tinsel Tidings event series at Tulaire which has a bright teal background with retro graphics of a car and christmas trees.
A mockup of the Tulaire business cards (2 designs). One store was the general card for the store that featured a green background with the Tulaire logo in black inside of a white organic shape and the store details underneath and black brushstrokes in the top right corner. On the back the background was all white with organically shaped green and yellow clouds and the logo in black underneath. On Alexis' owner card, the front background is bright yellow with the same logo/text layout as the store card. The back has an all black background with three organic shapes in pink, orange and yellow on top and bottom with the Tulaire logo in the center in white.
A photo of a hand holding a phone with the Tulaire home page on the screen. The background is all white with the Tulaire logo in the top left corner. A large image features two mannequins in outfits in the store, one in a plaid maroon and navy dress and the other mannequin in an orangey-red sweater and navy pants next to it. Under the image is the headline "Get it, kitten." and paragraphy copy.

As a small store with no foot traffic (retail lessons learned), I had to create ways to get noticed and find my tribe of customers. Through social media and events I was able to build a larger base in a shorter amount of time.

A few of the events held and their posts are shown above.

combining with willow

A digital brush stroke background in blue and green colors with the Willow and Tulaire logo in white on top.

In 2020, Tulaire and Willow decided to share space in Willow's longtime space in Downtown Littleton. We used the shutdown to our advantage and I moved completely out of Tulaire's original space in Wheat Ridge and into Willow's.

We remained two separate businesses but co-merchandised our items to create a unique, beautiful space. In early 2021, we moved into a much larger space on Main Street just up the block. I closed Tulaire in 2024, and Willow continues to operate in Downtown Littleton.
