Alexis is sitting an ATV smiling at the camera wearing aviators and clearly feeling very cool.

hey there!

I'm Alexis, and I'm so happy you're here. I chose this photo because it is maybe the coolest I have ever looked.

Fun picture stuff aside, I'm a lover of life. Road trips, adventures, art in any form, strong coffee, pup snuggles, continental breakfasts, fashion moments, long walks, long talks and sunrises. It's all good.

When it comes to design I consistently find that I'm influenced by the past and present. Constructivism meets Saul Bass with a gooey art center. Playing with color, shape and space bring me joy.

I took a few years away from full-time design to start a business in 2018, which turned into a brick-and-mortar storefront in 2019, and then lasted about five years - through COVID, moves and a collaboration in Downtown Littleton.

I kept designing the whole time, but exclusively for my businesses and projects. That chapter is now closed, and I wouldn't change a thing, but I'm ready to get back into a full-time design role.

All hail Sister Corita's wisdom! I first saw this in college and it resonated with me so deeply (as it has with many).

I realized one tenet guided me with even more ferocity than the others.

"The only rule is work."

At the end of the day, that's what helps create interesting work. Ideations, iterations, failures and successes. It all comes from the work.

RULE TWO: General duties of a student: pull everything out of your teacher; pull everything out of your fellow students. RULE THREE: General duties of a teacher: pull everything out of your students. RULE FOUR: Consider everything an experiment. RULE FIVE: Be self-disciplined: this means finding someone wise or smart and choosing to follow them. To be disciplined is to follow in a good way. To be self-disciplined is to follow in a better way. RULE SIX: Nothing is a mistake. There’s no win and no fail, there’s only make. RULE SEVEN: The only rule is work. If you work it will lead to something. It’s the people who do all of the work all of the time who eventually catch on to things. RULE EIGHT: Dont try to create and analyze at the same time. They’re different processes. RULE NINE: Be happy whenever you can manage it. Enjoy yourself. It’s lighter than you
